The Neo PSU is an advanced turntable power supply providing user controllable fine speed adjustment, advanced anti-vibration motor circuit and the convenience of electronic speed change. The Neo will make a welcome addition to any compatible Rega turntable by reducing motor noise, improving speed stability and rotational speed accuracy.
The Neo PSU is compatible with the following Rega turntable models:
P3-24 / RP3 / Planar 3 2016 / RP6 / P5 / P7 / RP40 special edition / RP8 Or any older Rega turntable fitted with the Rega aftermarket 24v motor upgrade kit.
Using the same DSP (digital signal processing) generator found in the RP10 the Neo is built upon a high stability crystal. The Neo features an advanced anti vibration circuit, fine motor speed adjustment and the convenience of electronic speed change. The DSP generator will divide the accurate signal from the crystal to the exact frequency required to turn the platter at the selected speed whilst will producing a near perfect sinusoidal waveform to drive the 24v motor.
Output to motor bi-phase = 24 V AC protected by resettable fuse.
Power consumption = 7.2 W
Voltage = 24 V AC
Power supply: Rega PS1 only.
Speed control step size = 0.01 RPM.
Input 230 V ~ 50 Hz 0.07 A
Output 24 V ~ 350 mA AC
This anti-skating weight is suitable for all current model single piece Pro-Ject carbon tonearms. This includes Debut Carbon DC, 1Xpression series, 2Xperience SB and Xtension series. Also suitable for the Essential MKII with its aluminium tonearm.
For legacy turntables, please get in touch for further information.
The gravity mediated anti-skating weight is the most pure way to ensure perfect tonearm control. The torque applied by this weight counteracts the natural tendency for the tonearm to move toward the spindle of the turntable. A correctly set anti-skating weight will ensure an improved soundstage and will also mitigate the effects of a skating event during playback.
ORTOFON NEW STYLUS PRESSURE GAUGE SCALE
The Ortofon tracking force gauge is a simple budget tool for turntables that is used to determine the stylus tracking force.
The tracking force is the downward pressure that is applied by the weight of the tonearm through the cartridge stylus and onto the vinyl record. It is important to set the proper tracking force in order to maximize the playback performance and to reduce the risk of mistracking or causing excessive record wear.
Check for the manufacturers recommended settings for your stylus tracking force. The Ortofon tracking force gauge tool is a small plastic pivot type scale that will accurately measure tracking force between 1.25 g and 4 g.
The Ortofon stylus force gauge is simple to use:
1. Very gently, rest the cartridge stylus (needle) into the grooved guide track at the desired tracking force marking.
2. Next, adjust the counter-weight or tonearm pressure dials until the Oftofon pivot scale is in balance. The scale on the force gauge is marked in gram.
