Rega Fono Mini A2D Phono Preamplifier

Rega Fono Mini A2D

The Rega Fono Mini A2D is a high quality phono pre-amplifier for use with any moving magnet cartridge. Many music listeners take for granted the job of a phono preamplifier. Many rely on the phono button or switch on their amplifier to provide the step up that is required to amplify the rather low output of their turntable (approximately 1/10th of the output of a CD player).Others need a phono preamplifier to enable connection of a turntable to an audio device that doesn't have an inbuilt phono stage. This stage in the amplification of the phono signal is a critical one where,if not done well leads to the loss of that sweet vinyl sound. However, there is a quite substantial improvement available in the form of the Rega Fono Mini 2AD preamplifier. The Rega can be connected easily to a line-input (AUX etc) of your amplifier or other audio device with an auxiliary input (either 2 RCA or 3.5MM Headphone plug style).

The Rega does a wonderful job of delivering the atmospheric sound of vinyl. There's no end of punch with the Fono Mini and great tonal balance to boot as well as crisp timing.Whatever the music you will find yourself drawn in and enjoying the presentation. The Fono Mini A2D amplifier offers exceptional performance and incredible value for money and promises to be a valuable addition to any hi-fi set up.

The Rega Fono Mini also provides a USB output to allow recording to your computer. To transfer vinyl to your PC, you will need to install a digital audio editor. Such software is widely available as a free download (such as Audacity), from the internet. This is a simple interface which allows monitoring of volume and balance whilst transferring your audio to your PC hard drive.

Audio editing software includes a level meter which indicates the output level achieved when playing a piece of vinyl. You should adjust the output as necessary via the ‘Level’ control located on the front panel. Always take special note of record levels to ensure optimum recording quality.
