Rega Releases New Planar 2 Turntable

Following the hugely successful release of the Planar 3 turntable recently,Rega has continued it's release schedule with the current release of the Planar 2.It was developed alongside  the Planar 3 and features a brand new RB220 tonearm which is packed with groundbreaking new features. In 1976,the original Rega Planar 2 was released as one of the brand's first turntables. This new model benefits from 40 years of research and development.

The new RB220 tonearm incorporates new ultra low friction,Rega-designed,bespoke,zero play ball-bearings,housed within a new stiffer and lightweight bearing housing which was developed with a new automatic bias setting negating the need for the user to set bias, making it almost plug and play.A new 2 volt motor reduces vibration while the new 10mm thick float glass platter improves speed consistency. It also has redesigned feet and a high gloss acrylic laminated plinth available in either black or white.

It has already been reviewed internationally with What HiFi magazine in the UK giving it 5 out of 5 stars. They described the sound of the Planar 2 as...."balanced and authoritive with impressive scale and natural musicality......it's a proper step up from the RP1 too......The Rega Planar 2 is a high-performing deck at a competive price.
