128 SYDNEY ROAD IS NOW OPEN...(BETWEEN WESTON AND BARKLEY STREET)

For various reasons, Hi-Fi has the potential to often confuse and overwhelm those who are new to it. To name just a few of the various terms flying around: things like phono, cartridge, integrated, isolated, resonance and the like have an uncanny ability to glaze eyes over. Though the list is long, and in many ways almost never ending, the core components needed to get that favourite LP of your singing like a bird are actually very few and very simple to understand. So in the manor of keeping things simple, we thought we’d run you through the basics and break each component down into separate posts (we don’t want to overload you with information all at once). It’ll be no fuss, no fluff, just the essentials to your Hi-Fi system in plain English, as simple as we can make it.
